New Restaurants

Revolver
Revolver is a contemporary Indian grill restaurant headed by Executive Chef Saurabh Udinia. The industrial chic space is done elegantly and you can't miss the open-kitchen style concept where the best seats are the counter ones in my opinion. Another perk of the counter seat is that you can really some of the heat, and that is from the custom-built Woodfire and Bincho Grills, Tandoor and Smokers. It's not hard to guess that fire forms a big element in the cuisine here. There are 3 fixed menus to choose from, with the most complete being the 9-course Experience tasting menu (S$199++) 8-course Discovery (S$139++) and Vegetarian menus (S$129++). La Bottega Enoteca
If there is one Italian restaurant which cooked up a storm this year, it has to be La Bottega Enoteca. Located along the buzzing Joo Chiat Road, the nondescript entrance looks like an abandoned shophouse but once the gate opens, it is a different culinary world inside. The man behind La Bottega is chef owner Antonio Miscellaneo, who is behind the crazily popular private dining Casa Nostra previously. Every diner has to go for a Fixed Menu(S$139++ per person), which has 5 courses. In addition, there is also an ala carte menu should you wish to order more. Not cheap primarily for a pizza and pasta meal but it pays off for an artisanal dining experience. And needless to say, scoring a table can prove to be challenging. [Read more here…]

Offshore Bar & Grill
Located at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, Offshore Bar & Grill is a few weeks old concept which specialises in seafood barbecue dining right beside the sea. It occupies the side of the Ferry Terminal, a pretty unique dining ambience in Singapore as it is probably as close to Kelong style dining as it can be. The basic package is the Happy Feast (S$69++) per person where you get a half lobster on top of a buffet-style selection of seafood, meat, and vegetables. Choose from steamy shabu-shabu or smoky charcoal to prepare your dishes. [Read more here…]

Mezcla
From the group behind The Feather Blade and Rappu, the name Mezcla is Mexican for mix or blend, and is the concept's marriage of Japanese and Mexican flavours through a myriad of unconventional tacos and fruity margaritas. Expect Japanese-inspired tacos on the concise menu where you can expect various taco flavours, with highlights like the Salmon Skin Taco and the luxurious Uni & Scallop. North Miznon
Located in the buzzing Amoy Street, North Miznon is the hottest restaurant to open in the past month. Similar to its sister establishment Miznon, North Miznon also hails from Tel Aviv, Israel, and has since established an international footprint of two other outlets in Vienna and New York – Singapore is the concept's first Asia outpost. It is a daily-changing menu of sharing plates on the one-page food menu, and for the uninitiated, Israeli food is heavily influenced by the Mediterranean with inspiration from French and Italian cuisines. Good Intentions
A new all-day dining concept along East Coast Road which specialises in coffee and bar-tending by the team behind concepts like Ah Sam Cold Drink Stall & Good Luck Beerhouse. It is a lovely 2-storey shophouse space where their coffee beans is by local roaster Smitten Coffee Roasters. Expect food grubs like Fish & Chips, Steak Frites, and Burger & Mash.

Ny Verden Bar & Grill
Located at Jewel Changi Airport, NY Verden is a new specialty woodfired restaurant and bar which offer a customisable woodfired grilling experience where 5 different firewood choices are used to cook the dishes. For mains, the house signature is the Crab Tagliolini cooked in lobster broth with toppings of smoked ikura and rose petals; or go for the 72-hour sous vide Iberico Pork Jowl.

Usher Into Autumn At La Dame de Pic, Raffles Singapore
The French fine-dining restaurant La Dame de Pic at Raffles Singapore by three-Michelin-starred French Chef Anne-Sophie Pic spots a new Autumn Menu specially curated by Chef de Cuisine Francesco Di Marzio. Expect dishes like Scallop from Hokkaido, served as carpaccio glazed with mikan, tsukudani and Pike-perch roe with a mint and marigold lactic vinaigrette; and Chef Anne-Sophie Pic's signature Berlingots which returns in the form of these pasta parcels filled with French cheese fondue served with a leek dashi infused with green cardamom and matcha. It's quite the marriage of French and Japanese flavours here, and oddly refreshing. [Read more here…]

The new Flow Bar is in collaboration with Master-Mixologist, Ricky Paiva where the bar-bites menu is inspired by Ricky's cocktail recipes and Chef Jeremy's culinary flair (think Croque Monsieur, Façon Savoyard, Curry Chicken Pita). It is a cosy bar space on level 2 of the shophouse right above Jag, where the you can expect a three-pillar drinks menu – Living Room, Garden and Playground. For Restaurant Jag, the new Autumn Menu features the Journey Degustation Dinner Experience where the new luxurious 8-Expressions menu includes three canapés, fresh bread basket, amuse bouche, Savoie vegetable-herb tea, palate refresher and seasonal mignardises offerings. Lino Restaurant and Cafe Opens At Forum The Shopping Mall
Taking over the space of the now-defunct Jamie's Italian, Lino Restaurant and Cafe opened recently at Forum The Shopping Mall and this is a casual dining brand by Les Amis Group. The first outlet of Lino is at Binjai Park few years ago, and the main difference for the Forum outlet is the much spacious setting, outlet-exclusive dishes, café bites, kid-friendly menu, as well as a cocktail programme. For meats, I highly recommend the Pollo Al Mattone, which literally means 'roast chicken under a brick'.

Parallel Coffee Roasters Opens New Location At Club Street
The local coffee brand closed its Duxton outlet and it has a new space at Club Street, which has a dedicated coffee bar and a restaurant space for all-day dining. Expect brunch fares like Sourdough Toast with Eggs, Club Sandwich and Eggs Benedict and of course, their coffee is still one of the most competitively priced ones in town.
